I.T. Resources on Campus

Forgotten Passwords? Need Printing Online? I.T. Got you Covered

Dominican University Information Technology Center offers a variety of resources for students to be technologically connected with their personal and college work.

Support Center at Dominican University offers a myriad of services, including software, hardware, and even online learning. The Support Center guide students on navigating online websites, such as myDU, Canvas and emails, as well as hardware services, such as computer, printer, and cable TV fixes. Additionally, the Support Center also facilitate requests on data reporting, telephone issue helps, online conference, and online accounts.

The equipment loan system has 34 types of available items to borrow. These devices include the essentials such as adaptors, chargers, extension cords, headphones, DVD players, but also the ones handy for classes, such as HDCAM recorders, webcams, scanners, portable mic, and cameras.

The student worker at Support Center notes that most students use services such as online printing and password resets.

According to this I.T. resource article, to print virtually on your personal computer, a user needs to connect to a server smb://print/pcclient, connect to the Dominican Network, install the PCClient application, and add Printer and Scanner in System Preference.

“There’s still a lot of things that I don’t know, or even our techs don’t know” another I.T. student worker said. “I would say to not feel discouraged to come, because even if it is a minor issue, it’s really overlooked and we could still help you no matter what”.
